Socotra Island, Yemen, is entirely a natural reserve and not a well-known tourist destination. Therefore, visiting it is an adventure in itself.

Don’t expect this destination to be comfortable, as you may face potential difficulties such as slow internet, the quality of food served, weather fluctuations, and the available accommodations, which are considered good but not luxurious.

We will do our best to make your trip to Socotra unforgettable, but flexibility is key. Most meals will consist of seafood, Yemeni dishes, rice, pasta, and more. We recommend bringing your preferred food items, such as croissants and protein, if you find it suitable.

There are no nighttime activities, so it’s advisable to download movies and series on your phones and iPads since the internet only works at the hotel and for basic functions like WhatsApp.

Trip cancellation is possible at any moment, so don’t expect the trip to be 100% confirmed.

Regarding safety, the island is far from the turmoil and conflict in northern Yemen, making it a safe destination located in the Indian Ocean. We advise bringing sunscreen and insulated water bottles.

Two or three participants will share one vehicle, typically a Land Cruiser. If you’re not interested in certain activities or prefer relaxation at the camp, the driver is available 24/7. There is a laundry, grocery store, and restaurant near the hotel.

Hadebo Airport is quite modest, so be prepared to handle your bags yourself.

Socotra Island is one of the most unique and beautiful islands, known for its deserted, beautiful beaches, exotic plants, and diverse environment. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The hotel is located in Hadebo village, the island’s capital, which is very modest with unpaved and neglected roads. However, as mentioned earlier, the island lacks the tourist infrastructure found in other natural islands like Seychelles and the Caribbean; it is, in essence, a primitive island.

There are several hiking activities, so if you are not physically fit, there is no need to join the rest of the group.

Activities include exploring beaches, swimming, getting to know Socotra’s local culture, and its differences from mainland Yemenis.

You can also watch dolphins, learn about unique plants and trees, and experience camping. In short, it is eco-tourism.
