ITINERARY
- Arrival at Socotra Airport and meeting with the expedition team.
- Then heading directly to Delisha beach to rest and enjoy the pureness of the water.
- Afterward, return to the hotel and have dinner.
- Overnight at the hotel.
Locations to visit: Dixam PLateau – Dragon’s Blood Trees
On Day 2, we kick off with a journey to Diksam Canyon, where the renowned “Dragon Blood Trees” (Dracaena Cinnabari) await. These unique trees have an intriguing characteristic—they produce a crimson-colored resin with mysterious properties, resembling the appearance of blood. Local traditions attribute them with miraculous qualities. The mountain range provides a spectacular panoramic view of Diksam Canyon, where the hills are adorned with Dragon Blood trees, offering a picturesque setting for photography.
Following our exploration, we’ll enjoy a picnic beneath these distinctive trees before descending into Wadi Dirhur, where we’ll encounter a variety of freshwater pools surrounded by impressive granite rock formations. Our overnight stay and dinner will be at a guest house that provides amenities such as washrooms and showers.
Locaitons to visit: Qalansiyah Beach – Shuab Beach
After having breakfast, we embark on a 1.5-hour car journey to the western region of Socotra, the beautiful coastal area of Qalansiyah Detwah. It’s one of the most stunning beaches for swimming and relaxation. We then arrange for boats to transfer the team to Shoab Beach (Midnight Beach), a scenic spot known for its dolphins along the way. You can capture wonderful photos and enjoy swimming at this beautiful beach. The boat trip takes about an hour, and then we return, making it one of the best days to relish breathtaking views and the crystal-clear turquoise waters of the sea.
Afterward, we head back to the camp for lunch, followed by a visit to Alayha Cave, where you can observe some fish species in the lake. Finally, we return and stay overnight at the hotel.
Locations to visit: Dihamri Reserve.
- After breakfast, we take a one-hour car ride from the hotel to Dihamri Reserve. If you enjoy diving and snorkeling, there’s a place to rent swimming gear. The reserve has beautiful coral reefs and colorful fish, so you can have a great time there. Later, we’ll stay at the hotel.
- After breakfast, we head to Wadi Kalisen, one of the largest valleys in Socotra. The car journey takes an hour and a half, followed by a 40-minute descent into the valley for swimming and having lunch. Then, we return to the capital, visit the Socotra Women’s Association, and head back to the hotel for the night
After having breakfast, we head to the village of Tharbuk and prepare to ascend to Hoq Cave with a local guide. The journey to the cave takes an hour and a half, with a 40-minute exploration inside the cave. We then return to the cars and travel to Arher for lunch, followed by swimming at the beautiful beach, water pools, and sandy shores. Finally, we head back to the hotel.
In the early morning, we drive in 4×4 vehicles directly to the camping site in the southern region, Aomak Camp. After that, we visit Digub Cave and then return to the hotel for relaxation. We have dinner at a local restaurant and then head back to the hotel.
After breakfast, we will drop you at the airport.

Socotra Island, Yemen, is entirely a natural reserve and not a well-known tourist destination. Therefore, visiting it is an adventure in itself.
Don’t expect this destination to be comfortable, as you may face potential difficulties such as slow internet, the quality of food served, weather fluctuations, and the available accommodations, which are considered good but not luxurious.
We will do our best to make your trip to Socotra unforgettable, but flexibility is key. Most meals will consist of seafood, Yemeni dishes, rice, pasta, and more. We recommend bringing your preferred food items, such as croissants and protein, if you find it suitable.
There are no nighttime activities, so it’s advisable to download movies and series on your phones and iPads since the internet only works at the hotel and for basic functions like WhatsApp.
Trip cancellation is possible at any moment, so don’t expect the trip to be 100% confirmed.
Regarding safety, the island is far from the turmoil and conflict in northern Yemen, making it a safe destination located in the Indian Ocean. We advise bringing sunscreen and insulated water bottles.
Two or three participants will share one vehicle, typically a Land Cruiser. If you’re not interested in certain activities or prefer relaxation at the camp, the driver is available 24/7. There is a laundry, grocery store, and restaurant near the hotel.
Hadebo Airport is quite modest, so be prepared to handle your bags yourself.
Socotra Island is one of the most unique and beautiful islands, known for its deserted, beautiful beaches, exotic plants, and diverse environment. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The hotel is located in Hadebo village, the island’s capital, which is very modest with unpaved and neglected roads. However, as mentioned earlier, the island lacks the tourist infrastructure found in other natural islands like Seychelles and the Caribbean; it is, in essence, a primitive island.
There are several hiking activities, so if you are not physically fit, there is no need to join the rest of the group.
Activities include exploring beaches, swimming, getting to know Socotra’s local culture, and its differences from mainland Yemenis.
You can also watch dolphins, learn about unique plants and trees, and experience camping. In short, it is eco-tourism.
